Thinka for Z-Wave — FAQ

Enable Google Home from the settings page on your Thinka. Doing so you allow the Thinka to setup a connection to Google via the secured Thinka cloud.

Next check to see that your Thinka is connected to the Thinka Cloud:

Now click the “PAIR” button and copy the generated token.

On your smart phone, start the Google Home App, Create an account and Home. For details on setting up Google devices see google support.

Make sure to use a regular G-Mail account, not a G-Suite account. This is not supported in Google Smart Home, and will lead to issues.Click on add.

Next choose "Set up device"

Choose "Works with Google".

Find "Thinka" in the list of devices and select it. Next you will use the generated token to pair with Google Home:

Yes, just say "Ok Google" or “Hey Google," then "What's the temperature in the Living Room?"

First of all make sure your lamp is configured properly in Thinka (see Lightbulb) as a lightbulb. Then you can just say: “Hey Google, set the floor light to 50 percent” or "Dim the floor light by 20 percent".

First of all make sure your thermostat is configured properly in Thinka (see Thermostat). Say "Ok Google, set the temperature to 21 degrees" or "Ok Google, make it warmer" to set the desired temperature. For more examples see the Google Smart Home website.

Unfortunately you can only see an icon for curtains or blinds in the Google Home App. There is not way to control it, this is a serious limitation of the Google Home App.
You can however use the Google Assistant (voice) to open or close it. See the FAQ.

Say "Ok Google, open the curtains" to fully open the curtains or "Ok Google, set the curtains to 80%" to open the curtains to 80%.

Close the curtains by saying "Ok Google, close the curtains".

Yes, after properly configuring your thermostat in Thinka (see FAQ), the Google Home app presents the thermostat in a nice way. You can select the mode and setpoint.
